Counted among the most beautiful and pristine places in Himachal Pradesh, Hampta Pass is a much lesser traveled destination than its counterpart, Rohtang Pass, but is bestowed with abundant green meadows and snow covered mountain peaks. Located at an altitude of 14000 feet, Hampta is a trekker’s paradise, but few people actually know about its existence. Hampta is holed up in the region of Manali and is perfect to be trekked all through the year. With beautiful facets of nature to be seen, like pine forests, green meadows, snow capped peaks and rocky formations.Connecting beautiful regions of Lahaul Spiti and Kullu, the Hampta Pass Trek is an abode of different varieties of flowering plants and avian population that thrive here in abundance.

Day 1: Manali local discovery tour

  • Arrive at Manali
  • Explore Manali by your own

Day 2: Manali to Vashist to Chhika

  • Enjoy breakfast at Manali and proceed to Vashist village and trek to chhika.
  • Visit Vashisht temple which will come enroute on our trail.
  • Curvaceous trail will take us to vast green valley.
  • Camp site is located next to the bank of freshwater stream.

Day 3: Chhika to Balu ka Ghera

  • Fresh morning in wilderness, enjoy breakfast.
  • Start trek and follow the stream, Trek will take us to Balu Ka Ghera.
  • On trail, cross wooden bridge and trail will become little difficult at some points.
  • After covering 8 KMs by foot we will reach to campsite.

Day 4: Balu ka Ghera to Sia Goru via Hampta Pass

  • Next morning, we will start trekking little early to enjoy the beauty of stretch.
  • Reach Hampta Pass, the pristine grassland, blooming flowers everywhere, you will find colourful carpet with snow capped mountains.
  • Enjoy tea at stall which is on our trail for trekkers only.
  • Start your trek to reach Lahaul that is perched up at 14000 feet above sea level.
  • Reach Siagoru and set up a campsite for the night

Day 5: Sia Goru to Chhatru to Chandratal

  • After breakfast, start your trek by crossing the stream and traverse many a steep and downhill trails.
  • After few hours, you would come to Chandra River situated in a valley at 11000 feet.
  • Make your camera ready to work overtime for a day.
  • Chhatru is a picturesque village surrounded by meadows and river Chandra flowing nearby.
  • You are picked up from the end point of the trek at Chhatru and transported by jeep to Chandratal.
  • Explore near by areas of lake and overnight at camp

Day 6: Chandratal to Manali

  • The last day Depart for Manali by Jeep or Car


  • Accommodation during Trek (Camping + home stay/guest house)
  • All Meals while on trek (Veg)(Breakfast+packed Lunch+Dinner)
  • Cook & attendant during the trekking.

Q 2: What is the minimum age required for Hampta Pass Trek?
A :Participant should be above 16 years can do this trek.

Q 3- What is the best time to go to Hampta Pass trek?
A : July to sepetember is the idol seaon for this trail

Q 4- What is a suitable rucksack to buy for Hampta Pass Trek?
A :A rucksack which is at least 60 L. Weather is unpredictable and you should also carry a plastic sheet to prevent the bag from getting wet or purchase a waterproof rucksack.

Q 5 - How clean the drinking water is on trek?
A :Himalayan water consider to be the purest form of water. It is completely safe to drink.

Q 6 - What type of toilet participants will get there?
A : It is not a luxury camping, Trail doesnt have any constructed toilet on the way. we will provide toilet tents while camping.

Q 7 - What kind of food served during trek?
A :We provide simple veg food to participants which is nutritious and easy to digest.

Q 8- How do we deal in emergency situations?
A :Our trek leaders are all certified mountaineer with excellent knowledge of first-aid in wilderness locations. They all carry the necessary first aid kit.

Q 9 - What kind of shoes we required for this trek?
A :Trekking shoes with good grip and ankle support is required to do this trek.

Q 10 - How can we reach Manali?
A :Manali has two options with good connectivity

  • By Air: The nearest Airport to Manali is the Kullu Airport located at a distance of 50 kms from Manali
  • By Road: Kashmiri gate ISBT gives many buses to reach Manali

Q 11 -Do I need to carry any documents with me?
A :Carry an original ID card and a photograph.

  • 30% of the deposit amount if cancelled 30 days prior to trip start date.
